How Ad Presence Rate is calculated
Ad Presence Rate represents the proportion of ad-supported prompts where a given advertiser domain is present. The calculation is:Ad Presence Rate = Ad-supported prompts where the advertiser is present ÷ Total ad-supported promptsThe metric is expressed as a percentage (%). The denominator always corresponds to the ad-supported prompts within the current analysis scope. If you apply filters such as engines, date ranges, themes or topics, the eligible prompts are recalculated accordingly.
Example If 40 prompts generated ads within your filtered analysis and an advertiser domain appears across 10 of them, its Ad Presence Rate is 25%.
How to read this KPI
A higher Ad Presence Rate means the advertiser is present across a larger proportion of the prompts where advertising occurs. It measures breadth of paid presence, not advertising volume. An advertiser can therefore have:- a high Ad Presence Rate, meaning it appears across many ad-supported prompts;
- or a lower Ad Presence Rate, meaning its presence is concentrated across fewer prompts.
How this KPI fits with other signals
Ad Presence Rate complements:- Share of Ad Voice — measures how much of the total paid visibility an advertiser captures.
- Total Ads — measures the raw volume of ads associated with the advertiser.
- Ads + Organic / Ads Only — qualifies whether that paid presence overlaps with organic visibility.
