# Video Analysis

Video Content Analysis explains **why a YouTube video gets cited by AI engines** and what that means for a partnership with its creator. Pick a video that AI assistants already cite in your projects, run the analysis, and get a structured breakdown you can turn into a creator brief.

The Leaderboard tells you *who* to work with. Video Content Analysis tells you *how* to brief them.

***

## Before you start

* **Which videos can be analysed?** Only YouTube videos that AI engines cite in your Share of Model projects. These are the same videos you see in the Leaderboard and the Video Content Analysis tab. You can't paste in a YouTube link from somewhere else.
* **Credits.** Each analysis uses credits from your workspace. The cost is shown on the video card before you start.
* **Language.** The analysis is generated in English.

***

## Run an analysis

1. Open **Integrations › YouTube Creator Partnerships** and go to the **Video Content Analysis** tab.
2. Browse the videos in grid or list view. Use the filters to narrow them down by creator, topic or date. Each card shows the creator, the publication date and whether the video has been analysed yet.
3. Click **Analyze** on a video. To analyse several videos at once, select them and start the analysis from the selection bar.
4. The analysis runs in the background, which can take a few minutes. You can keep working in Share of Model while it runs. The card shows a processing state until it's done.
5. When the analysis is ready, the video's status changes to **Analyzed**. Click the video to open its analysis panel.

> **Tip:** Start with the videos that are cited most often for the topics you care about. They have the most influence on what AI assistants say about your category.

## Read the analysis

The analysis panel has an **Overview** for a quick read, followed by five detailed sections.

### Overview

A one-screen summary: the video's GEO compliance score, its key messages, how it's structured and paced, the brands it mentions, and the key takeaways for working with this creator.

### 1. GEO compliance signal: *why* the video gets cited

The video is checked against **7 GEO best practices for video**. GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) covers the practices that make content easy for AI engines to find, understand and cite.

| Best practice | What we check |
| :- | :- |
| Transcript | Is a full transcript available, and how good is it (none, auto-generated, manual, or published on a web page)? |
| Direct answer | Does the video answer its main question within the first 30 seconds? |
| Chapters | Are there timestamped chapters, and do their titles describe what each part answers? |
| Title | Is the title phrased the way people search, with a clear subject and no clickbait? |
| Description | Does the description include key facts, sources and links to related pages? |
| Credibility (E-E-A-T) | Is the presenter identified? Is there first-hand evidence? Are sources credited? |
| Third-party validation | Do other creators or articles reference the video? |

You get a **GEO compliance score from 0 to 10** and a short summary naming the one or two signals that helped or held back the score most.

### 2. Creator's editorial position: *what* the creator says

* Up to **3 key messages**. For each one, you see the type of evidence used (data, personal experience, expert, demonstration, anecdote) and the timestamps where it comes up.
* The **main question the video answers**, phrased the way a user would search for it, and the type of question (informational, comparison, transactional and so on).
* A short, neutral **summary** of the video.

### 3. Narrative structure & style: *how* the video is built

Story arc (tutorial, review, comparison, case study and so on), structure, tone, pacing, emotional arc, information density and production format. A short expert note explains how these choices make the content easier or harder for AI engines to cite.

### 4. Brands & products mentioned: *who* appears

Every brand mentioned in the video, spoken or shown on screen, ranked by number of mentions. For each brand you see:

* Spoken and on-screen mentions, where it first appears, and whether it's the main subject
* How it's presented: positive, neutral, critical, comparative or in passing
* How the product is shown (in use, close-up, packshot, in the background and so on), and whether a price is mentioned
* How it's positioned against the other brands in the video

A short summary describes the competitive landscape in the video and what it means for your brand.

### 5. Key takeaways for working with this creator

The previous four sections turned into recommendations for a partnership:

* **GEO practices the creator already uses**, which a partnership should keep
* **GEO gaps** a partnership could close (for example, publishing a transcript page)
* A **recommended video structure** and **where your brand fits** in it
* The **level of brand integration** to aim for: a mention, a dedicated segment, a full integration or a series
* **Proof points** (facts, data, expert quotes) to give the creator
* A short **brief summary** of guidelines, ready to use in a brief

> **Good to know:** This section is an internal starting point for your team. It is never shown or sent to the creator. When you create a brief, Share of Model uses it to tailor the brief to the creator's channel.

## Next step: create a brief

From an analysed video, click **Create a brief** to open the Creator Brief agent with this video's analysis already loaded. See **Create a creator brief**.

## FAQ

**Can I analyse any YouTube video?** No. Only videos that AI engines cite in your projects can be analysed. That way, every analysis relates to content that already shapes AI answers in your category.

**Do I need to run an analysis before creating a brief?** No. You can create a brief from a creator's profile data alone. An analysis makes the brief more specific to that creator's channel.

**Is a high GEO compliance score a guarantee of citation?** No. The score measures how closely a video follows known GEO best practices. These practices make citation more likely, but they don't guarantee it.

**Do I have to wait on the page while the analysis runs?** No. The analysis runs in the background. Come back to the Video Content Analysis tab to see the result.
